This morning I popped Cormac in his cage (much to his dismay), threw on some sweatpants, and drove over to Iggy’s Bakery. This has become one of my favorite places to go in Cambridge. On a Sunday morning, there is nothing better than getting a croissant and an iced coffee to enjoy while watching CBS Sunday morning. Today looks a little different, a couple slices of 7 grain bread and an iced coffee, but it’s all the same as anything from Iggy’s satisfies.
One of my favorite things to get is a chocolate croissant. It’s stuffed to the brim with chocolate (which you know that I love). Their feta croissant and bread pudding are also very good. They always have free samples sitting out, and sometimes I sneak a few. Other delicacies include homemade sourdough, francese, brioche, and country. Their iced coffee and iced tea is self serve from a draught in the corner, and ice is kept in a container in the fridge.
I’m so glad we found this place. I’d driven by it plenty of times and had no idea what deliciousness lied within. Its outside is nondescript. You can only tell Iggy’s is in there by a tiny sign on the brick, which is hard to read from the road. It looks like a warehouse otherwise. We only discovered it from a friend and coworker who lives in the neighborhood. A true local business.
I’m looking forward to the coming summer months when it’s sunny and we can stroll over with Cormac, and eat our croissants and coffee as we walk home. Iggy’s, you never disappoint.
